I had the opportunity to experience a buyagift day out with my husband and two children and I can honestly say we all had a wonderful time together and have made some fantastic memories, that will stay with us forever.
We experienced the Family Tower of London visit and Sightseeing Cruise. This was extremely easy to book. Once we received the buyagift voucher we had to activate it on their website and we then received a confirmation email. For our experience we didn’t have to book a specific date but could just visit the Tower of London whenever we wanted, and had to simply just take the printed email confirmation with us. I thought this was great, as the sightseeing cruise on the Thames was weather dependent so we could then choose a date that had been forecasted good weather.
The sightseeing cruise was arranged with City Cruises and I thought their service was brilliant. We departed from Westminster Pier and the staff were very helpful. We handed our email confirmation into the City Cruise desk and they gave us our tickets for both the cruise and for the Tower of London.
The cruise was fantastic. We saw so many sights of London and the tour guide was very knowledgeable (and funny!) so we all learnt something about London in a humorous, fun way. The tour guide clearly enjoyed his job and was very enthusiastic, which interested and entertained both the children and adults. We sat at the top of the boat and had amazing views of some of London’s famous landmarks. We got off the boat at Tower Pier which was right next to the Tower of London, but we could have carried on to Greenwich if we wanted to.
The City Cruise boats come every 30 minutes and we were allowed to use them as many times as we wanted to within 24 hours. This was great as we could also get the boat back to Westminster Pier on our way home- something my children loved!
The Tower of London was incredible too. We saw over 1000 years of history and it was remarkable. We saw the Crown Jewels (which my daughter absolutely loved), the White Tower, the ravens and walked the tower walls. My children were mesmerised by some of the things they saw and it really brought history alive for them.
This experience from buyagift was fabulous. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day and it was a great way to spend some family time together.
