One of the many things that can ruin the experience of cooking is using a blunt knife. As I do 99% of the cooking in my household, I know how frustrating using a blunt knife is. I was on the verge of buying a whole new set of knives for our house and was then given a Stellar knife sharpener to try.
Having never used a knife sharpener before I was a bit dubious about the effect it would have on my knives but I gave it a try. I was absolutely amazed how sharp my knives were after using this device and even more amazed at how quick and easy the knife sharpener was to use.
I used the Stellar 2-Stage Diamond Abrasive Sharpener which is attractive and versatile. The reason it works so well is because it has two diamond-shaped sharpening wheels at its core. One wheel is coarse for sharpening blunt blades and the other wheel is fine for honing. I had to use the coarse wheel and the effects were instant.
I followed the instructions and placed the knife sharpener on a flat surface in front of me. I held the sharpener steady, placed the knife blade into the slot and using a slight downward pressure, pulled the blade along the wheel. I did this twice and couldn’t believe how sharp the knife was. It was as sharp as it was when I first bought it, if not sharper.
Not only does this sharpener work extremely well but it also looks very stylish. It has an attractive brushed steel finish, has anti-slip feet and has a secure comfortable grip. It also has a removable case for easy cleaning.
