The Cake and Bake Show 2013

A fabulous day out dedicated to baking

08 Oct The Cake and Bake Show 2013

The award winning Cake and Bake show was held in London’s Earls Court on the 13th – 15th September. I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit the show and get in touch with my inner domestic goddess.

I have not visited the Cake and Bake show before and was thoroughly entertained, inspired and amazed by the whole experience. The Cake and Bake show is a live event for baking and cake decorating enthusiasts, foodies and families. The day consisted of live bake offs, celebrity demos, enjoyable classes and workshops, tasty treats and all the latest baking supplies and equipment.

One of my favourite parts of the show was the ‘Wedding Cakes of the Future’ display. This futuristic display consisted of Wedding Cakes created by leading cake designers. The range of cakes ranged from classic whites and creams, to Manga designs, to modern gold and bronze designs. All the cakes in this display were truly amazing and awe inspiring.

There was also a range of celebrities, including the brilliant Rosemary Shrager and star judge Peter Sidwell, showcasing their incredible baking skills. This was thoroughly enjoyable.

The show also housed all the latest products from specialist baking and cake decorating companies. For anyone who bakes for a hobby or for their own business, this show would have everything they need. The range of cake decorating supplies and sugarcraft tools was amazing and definitely opened my eyes to the wonderful things you can do with baking and cake decorating.

Another one of my favourite parts of the show was the Marketplace. This is where all the latest creations and baking trends from cake experts can be tasted and enjoyed. I loved looking at all the different creations and definitely enjoyed sampling them too!

Having visited the Cake and Bake Show I can completely understand why thousands of people come to the show. There is something for everyone. For those who enjoy watching star chefs and experts showcasing their talents, The Cake Kitchen, The Bakery and The Classrooms are ideal. For those who want to know about all the latest trends and products, The Dessert Tales, The Wedding Cakes of the Future and the wide range of suppliers would be absolutely perfect. There are also things for families with little children to enjoy; the Cookie Decoration Station would definitely keep little ones (and big ones) entertained.

For anyone who has a passion about food, baking and cake decorating, this show would be a dream come true and is definitely well worth a visit.

If you missed The Cake and Bake Show at Earls Court, do not worry as there is another show in Manchester on the 4th – 6th April 2014. Tickets are available at http://www.thecakeandbakeshow.co.uk/manchester and will be on sale soon.
